Why carriers use it

Large, light cartons still occupy cargo space

Dimensional weight converts a carton's volume into a weight value. Carriers may compare it with the actual scale weight and bill the higher figure.

Dimensional weight = L × W × H ÷ divisorUse the divisor and rounding method specified by your carrier.

Example: one 50 × 40 × 30 cm carton

50 × 40 × 30 ÷ divisor

The result is 12 kg with a 5,000 divisor and 10 kg with a 6,000 divisor.
